We run a diverse portfolio of high quality, clinical and administrative services designed to support our practices and improve patient care at scale. Our services operate across a variety of community locations and frequently run in the evenings and weekends.

We are a small, tight-knit and dedicated headquarters team looking for an adaptable manager for the day-to-day execution of our services, driving continuous improvement and keeping our physical bases running perfectly.

The Role

Reporting directly to the Business Manager, the Operations Manager will oversee the seamless, day-to-day delivery of our federated services, manage office infrastructure, and lead staff teams, both on-site and off-site.

This role requires an efficient organiser who thrives on implementing plans smoothly. Under the guidance of the Business Manager, you will also help to develop, mobilise and launch new service initiatives under tight deadlines and budgets, while simultaneously site managing to maintain safe, functional working environments for our various small teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Stakeholder Management: Develop and maintain strong, collaborative working relationships with member general practices, Primary Care Networks (PCNs) and the ICB, plus wider system partners.
  • Service Delivery & Resilience: Oversee daily operations across multiple locations, ensuring evening, weekend, and daytime rotas are robustly staffed and running smoothly. Effectively manage complaints.
  • Service Performance: Monitor and report on service performance, identifying risks, opportunities and areas for improvement. Provide data for business cases and prepare presentations for Board and other governance groups, as required
  • Service Development: Partner with the Business Manager to design, mobilise, and launch new clinical and support services under tight timescales and budgets.
  • Office Management: Oversee the daily running of our central office premises and service locations, managing facilities, supplies, and workplace health and safety compliance.
  • Compliance & Quality: Monitor adherence to CQC regulations, information governance, health and safety policies, budgets and NHS contract KPIs across all active operating sites.

About You

We need a versatile, highly organised "all-rounder" who thrives in a supportive role within a small-team environment, stays calm under pressure, handles tight deadlines with ease, and excels at the practical execution of healthcare services.

  • Healthcare Operations: Must have strong management background within primary care.
  • Team Supervision: Skilled in managing dispersed frontline teams, building staff morale, and coordinating complex rotas.
  • Relationship Maintenance: Proven ability to communicate clearly and maintain positive day-to-day working relationships with GP practices, PCNs, or external health partners.
  • Facilities/Office Management: Experience overseeing office premises, utilities, local contractors, or general workplace health and safety.
  • Execution & Adaptability: Proven ability to implement project plans, adapt to shifting operational priorities, and meet tight time and budget constraints.
  • Flexible Mindset: A hands-on approach, happy to pick up varying tasks to support a small team, with the flexibility to support out-of-hours services.

What We Offer

  • Competitive salary of £36,000 to £42,000 per annum
  • Generous NHS Pension Scheme
  • 33 days annual leave (incl bank holiday allowance) rising to 35 after 5 years
