About the role

Apply for job

Are you an experienced GP Practice Manager or senior healthcare manager ready to step up to group level? Take overall operational responsibility for a growing four-practice general practice group, lead a supportive management team and shape the future of our practices for staff and patients alike.

  • Overall responsibility for HR and payroll
  • CQC readiness and group-wide compliance
  • Finance and budget management
  • Enhanced Services oversight
  • Practice growth and marketing
  • Premises and building management
  • Leading Practice Managers and coordinating clinical leads
  • KPI and scorecard monitoring, reporting directly to the Partner

The role

As Group Manager you will take overall responsibility for the smooth running of all four practices, reporting directly to the Partner. This is a senior, hands-on role where you will:

  • Lead and support the Practice Managers and management support team, holding regular management meetings and following up on agreed actions.
  • Work with the GP and clinical leads so that clinical and operational priorities are aligned across every site.
  • Monitor KPIs and scorecards, identify variation between practices, drive improvement and produce clear performance reports for the Partners.
  • Keep every practice inspection-ready, overseeing governance systems, internal audits, mock inspections, policies, risk management and significant events.
  • Oversee HR across the group, including recruitment, induction, contracts, performance, absence, disciplinary and grievance, along with monthly payroll, workforce planning and mandatory training.
  • Manage budgets and forecasting, and make sure NHS income, including QOF and Enhanced Services, is identified, claimed and maximised, working with our accountants.
  • Oversee delivery of local and direct enhanced services against agreed targets.
  • Manage premises across all four sites, including health and safety, fire safety, contractors, leases and capital projects.
  • Lead our growth strategy, including patient list growth, marketing, social media, promotion of new and existing services, and new partnerships and contracts.

About us

We are a multi-site operator with four practices, all within a 10-minute drive of each other. You will join a large, supportive team including Practice Managers, a management support team, administrators, 7 reception supervisors and 3 GP leads. We are ambitious about growth and committed to high-quality, well-governed care across all our sites.

About you

You will have significant experience as a Practice Manager, Group Manager or equivalent senior role, ideally across multiple sites. You will be confident in finance, HR, CQC compliance and NHS contracts, comfortable holding others to account, and keen to take ownership and make a real difference. This is an on-site role, based at one of our four practices with travel between sites, so a full driving licence and access to a vehicle are essential.
