As Practice Manager you will support the day-to-day running of the practice, keeping standards of governance, compliance, staff development and patient care high. You will:

  • Identify staff training and development needs, support inductions, organise and monitor mandatory and role-specific training, and support staff performance.
  • Maintain effective governance systems, policies and evidence, and carry out regular internal checks and audits so the practice is inspection-ready at all times.
  • Support preparation for CQC inspections and ICB compliance reviews, and make sure action plans are followed through.
  • Coordinate local and direct enhanced services, monitoring invitations, supporting clinics and reviewing KPIs, and working with the recall team to maximise uptake and timely follow-up.
  • Manage NHS claims accurately and on time.
  • Help grow our patient list through marketing, social media content, practice communications, promotion of services and community engagement.
  • Support other Practice Managers and practices within a commutable distance, including cover during absence, projects, compliance work and sharing best practice.

About us

About you

You will be an experienced Practice Manager with a strong understanding of NHS general practice and CQC requirements, who is organised, proactive and a strong team player. You will bring fresh ideas for practice development and patient engagement, and be willing to support colleagues at other practices within a commutable distance. Most importantly, you take ownership, have an eye for detail and want to make a genuine difference.
