Quality Assurance Technician
Full-time role, based in our London office.
We are looking for a detail-oriented and highly organized Quality Assurance TechnicianABOUT THE JOB
to support our team.
To further our mission of leading a revolution in the food system, we are looking for a Quality Assurance Technician to join the Food Technical team at our UK headquarters. You will help make sure that every product leaving our sites is safe, legal and of the quality our chefs and home customers expect.
Working across all our UK production sites, you will carry out internal audits, keep our traceability and food safety records accurate, and follow up non-conformances until they are fully resolved. You will be the day-to-day link between the Technical team and the teams on the ground, working closely with Operations, Buying, Maintenance and Customer Service.
This is a hands-on role, well suited to someone early in their food safety or quality career who wants to learn and grow within a technical team. You will receive support and development from the Technical Manager, with exposure to all areas of our food safety and quality management system.
Our ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, organised and confident speaking up when standards aren't being met. You will enjoy spending time on the shop floor, have a genuine interest in food, and be motivated by the challenges of a fast-growing business.
Key RESPONSIBILITIES
- Carry out internal audits across all production sites, covering hygiene, allergen segregation and handling, CCPs, GMP, and opening and closing checks
- Maintain accurate traceability and food safety records, reviewing daily monitoring checks and supporting traceability exercises.
- Manage non-conforming products, verifying holds and making sure corrective actions are taken
- Follow up audit, non-conformance and complaint actions, investigating root causes and verifying each is resolved and closed
- Monitor site condition and maintenance, and make sure planned preventative maintenance (PPM) is completed on schedule
- Carry out equipment verification and calibration, including temperature probes, scales and chillers
- Verify goods-in product information is accurate in the database to maintain traceability.
- Support site pest control management, environmental swabbing and product testing programmes.
- Help keep HACCP plans, specifications and the food safety management system up to date, and support preparation for external third party audits.
- Liaise with Operations, Buying, Maintenance and Customer Service to resolve issues, and deliver food safety and allergen training to site teams
- Some experience in a quality, technical or food safety role within food manufacturing, fresh produce, food distribution or a similar environment
- Level 3 Food Safety and HACCP qualifications (or willingness to obtain them)
- A working knowledge of HACCP, allergen management and good manufacturing practice; familiarity with BRCGS or similar standards is a plus
- Excellent attention to detail and strong record-keeping, with the confidence to challenge when standards are not met
- A proactive, clear communicator who builds good working relationships at all levels, from site teams to managers
- Good computer skills, including Microsoft Office (particularly Excel)
- Well organised, able to prioritise and keep to deadlines while working across multiple sites
- Comfortable working in chilled environments and willing to work flexibly to support a 24/7 operation
- Lunch made with the same seasonal produce we supply to chefs
- Natoora produce at a significant discount
- Your birthday off once you've hit the 6-month mark
- Kitchen stocked from our own growers and a range of independent producers - including Estate Dairy milk and butter, Alma bread, Monmouth coffee, England Preserves jam, etc.
Our vision for a better food system is built on real human relationships and a diversity of experience, perspective and ideas. We are committed to equality of opportunity and welcome applications from individuals, regardless of age, gender, ethnicity, disability, sexual orientation, gender identity, socio-economic background, religion and/or belief.

We exist to fix the food system.
People are more cut off from the origins of their food than ever. This makes flavour, nutrition and farming practices that protect the planet, almost impossible to find.
By working directly with growers, we create a more sustainable way forward for farming. By giving everyone the tools to understand the power of our food choices, we empower everybody to become drivers of change.
Now is the time for action. Join the food system revolution.
Go beyond four seasons
Each fruit and vegetable has its own season, with subtle shifts which happen every day. Follow their microseasons to unlock flavour at every stage.
WHAT’S IN SEASON?
Know where your food comes from
We know the name of the people behind everything we source. Recognise their growing artistry to find out exactly where your food comes from (and why that matters).
MEET THE GROWERS
Make your diet diverse
Our growers work with varieties chosen for quality and nutrition, not yield. By selecting their crops you keep heritage seeds in play, add to ecosystem biodiversity and preserve unique flavours.
