About the role

Weld the frames, housings and assemblies of EHOSS machines — MIG/MAG, from the drawing to a finished structure.

About the Role

EHOSS is looking for an experienced MIG/MAG welder (processes 131 and 135) to build the metal structures, frames, housings and mechanical assemblies of our industrial equipment. EHOSS develops and manufactures automated machines for agriculture and farms, and its main products — FORAGE.PRO, BEDDING.PRO, REUSING.PRO and FRESHER.PRO — are built on welded structures, load-bearing frames, housings, hoppers and the mechanisms that move and process material. We are looking for somebody with hands-on experience of welding structures in mechanical engineering, who works from technical drawings on their own and holds both the accuracy of the assembly and the quality of the weld. The work runs from one-off parts and prototypes to repeat structures for series production. The post is open to people who have fled the war in Ukraine.

Responsibilities

  • MIG/MAG welding (131 / 135)
  • Welding the metal structures, frames, housings and mechanical assemblies of industrial equipment
  • Working with structural and stainless steel, as each production task requires
  • Assembling and tack-welding structures before final welding
  • Working on your own from technical and assembly drawings
  • Preparing parts for welding, and cleaning and finishing the surfaces to be welded
  • Checking the geometry, dimensions, angles and accuracy of each assembly
  • Following the welding procedure and the parameters set on the equipment
  • Checking the quality of welds and putting right the defects found
  • Grinding, dressing and finishing welded joints
  • Working with measuring tools, squares, callipers and templates
  • Using assembly jigs, clamps and welding tables
  • Keeping welding distortion to a minimum and finished structures accurate
  • Working with design engineers, process engineers and production
  • A hand in building prototypes and series products
  • Following health and safety, fire safety and workplace rules

What you'll work on

  • Load-bearing frames and chassis: welded structures of box section, metal profiles, sheet steel and other structural members
  • Machine housings: metal housings, guards, covers, doors and service hatches
  • Hoppers and containers: structures that hold, feed and process hay, straw, bedding and organic material
  • Conveyor systems: welded conveyor frames, supports, brackets and mechanical assemblies
  • Feeding and dosing mechanisms: welded parts of feeders, auger mechanisms, moving platforms and guides
  • Process modules: structures for ventilation, filtration, watering and material processing
  • Mounting and auxiliary structures: brackets, supports, flanges, plates, fixings and sub-assemblies

Requirements

  • Hands-on experience as a MIG/MAG welder in a mechanical engineering or metalworking company — required
  • Confident command of MAG welding (135)
  • Experience welding metal structures, frames, housings and sub-assemblies
  • Reading technical and assembly drawings on your own
  • Experience assembling metal structures before welding
  • Knowing how structural steel behaves under welding
  • Setting up welding equipment correctly for the thickness and type of material
  • Understanding what causes welding distortion and how to keep it down
  • Fillet, butt and other types of welded joint
  • Checking weld quality and the geometric accuracy of a structure
  • Experience with an angle grinder, measuring tools and hand tools
  • Care, precision, responsibility and attention to detail
  • Working on your own and keeping to production deadlines
  • Secondary education with a school-leaving certificate (maturita)
  • Slovak at B1, Ukrainian at C1
  • An advantage: a valid welder’s certificate to EN ISO 9606-1; MIG/MAG welding of stainless steel; thin sheet metal and complex welded structures; building frames and housings for industrial machines; professional welding tables with clamping systems; weld symbols on drawings to EN ISO 2553; working to welding procedure specifications (WPS); fitting and assembly work; laser cutting, bending or machining equipment; building prototypes and small-series equipment; precise assembly to tight tolerances
