Senior DevOps Specialist – On-Premise Infrastructure & Migration - 6 months+

Location: Occitanie region, France – Primarily Remote (occasional onsite visits)

Contract: Freelance

Languages: English and French (professional+)

Experience: 5+ years

We are looking for an experienced Senior DevOps Engineer to support a large international organisation with the migration of an existing solution from an external systems integrator into its internal on-premise infrastructure.

The role will focus on data migration, environment preparation, configuration, implementation and optimisation of existing DevOps processes, ensuring a smooth transition and knowledge transfer.

Key Responsibilities

Support the migration of applications, data and configurations into the internal on-premise environment.
Prepare, configure and optimise infrastructure and deployment environments.
Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure automation.
Provide technical guidance during implementation, testing and transition.
Troubleshoot infrastructure, integration and deployment issues.
Collaborate with internal teams and external integrators to ensure successful handover and knowledge transfer.

Key Requirements

5+ years' experience in DevOps or Infrastructure Engineering.
Strong experience with on-premise infrastructure, migrations and environment transitions.
Experience with CI/CD tools such as GitLab or Jenkins.
Strong knowledge of Linux, scripting and automation (Python, Bash or PowerShell).
Experience with Terraform, Ansible or similar automation tools.
Understanding of networking, virtualisation, storage and infrastructure security.
Experience with Docker and Kubernetes is advantageous.

Desirable Skills

VMware, Red Hat or enterprise infrastructure experience.
Previous experience transitioning systems from external integrators to internal IT teams.
Hybrid-cloud experience, particularly Azure.
