About the role

Regional Director, Latin America

About the position

Location: Peru, Chile or Brazil

LIONPRO is looking for an entrepreneurial and commercially driven Regional Director to lead the development of our business in Latin America.

This is not a conventional regional management role where you take over an established organisation. LIONPRO has begun developing commercial activity in Latin America, but the regional business is still at an early stage. Your role will be to turn this market presence into a structured, scalable and profitable regional operation.

You will initially focus on developing sales opportunities in Peru and Chile and building procurement and supplier relationships in Brazil. As the business grows, you will establish the local operating model, build the regional team and assume full responsibility for the region’s performance.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

Drive market development and Sales

You will define the commercial direction for Latin America, identify the strongest market and product opportunities, and translate them into profitable business.

During the initial development phase, you will be expected to work hands-on: building the sales pipeline, developing strategic customer relationships, leading negotiations and personally driving sales. Over time, you will recruit and lead Country Managers and Sales Managers while retaining responsibility for key relationships and the overall commercial direction of the region.

Build the regional business

You will help establish the practical foundations needed for sustainable growth, including the local operating structure, regulatory processes, logistics, warehousing, documentation and reporting routines.

You will build relationships with SENASA and equivalent authorities, customs, ports and other relevant stakeholders, and ensure that the necessary product registrations and import processes are in place.

Lead procurement and supplier development

Procurement will be an important part of your responsibility, particularly in Brazil.

You will identify and assess producers and suppliers, build long-term relationships and evaluate pricing, quality, reliability, logistics and commercial viability. Working closely with LIONPRO’s Group procurement team, you will develop competitive and dependable supply flows for our international markets.

Own regional financial performance

As the region develops, you will take full responsibility for its budget and P&L.

You will be expected to deliver profitable growth, protect margins, control costs and actively manage receivables, stock and working capital. Success in this role will be measured not only by sales growth, but also by the financial health and long-term sustainability of the business.

Develop financing solutions

You will build relationships with local banks and explore financing solutions that can support regional growth and working-capital needs.

This may include trade-finance facilities, credit lines, investment programmes, subsidies and other relevant support mechanisms.

Build and lead the team

You will define the structure needed for the region, recruit capable local professionals and build a strong, accountable team.

You will work directly with LIONPRO’s CEO and collaborate closely with colleagues across sales, procurement, finance, logistics, HR and other regions.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

You are a strong candidate for this role if you bring:

  • minimum 3-5 years of relevant experience;
  • hands-on B2B sales capability, including building a pipeline, winning strategic customers and driving recurring, profitable revenue;
  • experience developing a market, product area, customer portfolio, sales channel or business unit;
  • confidence in managing commercial targets, budgets and P&L;
  • practical understanding of pricing, margins, receivables, stock and working capital;
  • experience building relationships with customers, suppliers, authorities and external partners;
  • knowledge of international trade, import logistics, customs, sanitary requirements and product registration;
  • the ability to recruit, lead and develop a local team;
  • relevant experience in international agricultural commodity trading, animal nutrition, feed ingredients, agricultural inputs or a closely related physical-goods business will be considered a strong advantage;
  • a strong understanding of how business relationships and decision-making work in Latin America will be considered an advantage.

Professional fluency in Spanish, Portuguese and English is required. English must be strong enough for direct and confident communication with the CEO and executive team in Riga, Latvia.

LOCATION AND TRAVEL

The role can be based in Peru, Chile or Brazil.

Extensive travel between these countries will be required, particularly during the initial development phase. The ability and willingness to work actively across the region is more important than the specific home city.
