SEMH Teaching Assistant - AP Hub within Mainstream Primary School

About the role:

justteachers is working with a mainstream primary school near Peterborough seeking a resilient SEMH Teaching Assistant to support pupils within its specialist AP hub. This permanent, full-time position will commence in January 2027 and involves supporting pupils who require additional behavioural and emotional support to engage successfully with education.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support pupils with SEMH needs within the AP provision
• Build positive and trusting relationships with pupils
• Implement behaviour support strategies
• Assist with learning activities and interventions
• Work collaboratively with teaching and pastoral teams

Pre-requisites:

• Experience supporting pupils with SEMH needs
• Strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills
• Passion for inclusive education
• Ability to build positive professional relationships
• Must be willing to complete an enhanced DBS check and subscribe to the DBS Update Service
