Religious Education Teacher

About the role:

Justteachers Supply Agency is partnering with a secondary school in Rugby to recruit a dedicated Religious Education Teacher for a short-term placement. This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate educator to deliver stimulating RE lessons, encouraging students to explore a range of religious beliefs, worldviews and ethical issues while developing their knowledge and understanding.

The successful candidate will work alongside the RE department and wider school team to provide engaging, well-planned lessons across the relevant key stages. Responsibilities will include planning and delivering lessons, monitoring and assessing student progress, maintaining positive classroom behaviour, and adapting teaching approaches to support pupils with different learning needs and abilities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan and deliver engaging Religious Education lessons in line with the school’s curriculum
• Create an inclusive classroom environment where pupils can explore religious, moral, and ethical questions respectfully
• Assess pupils’ understanding and provide clear, constructive feedback to support progress
• Adapt lessons and resources to meet the needs and abilities of all learners
• Work collaboratively with colleagues to maintain continuity of learning throughout the short-term placement

Pre-requisites:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or a relevant teaching qualification
• Experience teaching Religious Education within a secondary school setting
• Strong subject knowledge and the ability to deliver engaging lessons across the required key stages
• Excellent classroom management, communication, and organisational skills
• An enhanced DBS check on the update service, or willingness to obtain one
