Project Manager – Civil
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead the successful delivery of civil engineering and infrastructure projects from inception through to completion. This role will suit a commercially aware and organised professional who can coordinate multidisciplinary teams, manage complex programmes and ensure work is delivered safely, efficiently and to the required quality standards.
You will take responsibility for planning, procurement, contract administration, stakeholder engagement and project controls. Working closely with clients, consultants, subcontractors and internal teams, you will provide clear direction throughout the project lifecycle and ensure that key milestones, budgets and performance targets are achieved.
Key responsibilities
- Manage civil engineering projects from mobilisation, design development and construction through to handover.
- Develop and maintain detailed programmes, budgets, risk registers and project documentation.
- Coordinate site teams, subcontractors, suppliers, consultants and other project stakeholders.
- Monitor progress, costs, resources and quality, taking prompt corrective action where required.
- Ensure compliance with relevant health and safety, environmental and construction regulations.
- Lead project meetings and provide accurate progress reports to senior management and clients.
- Support commercial management, including valuations, variations, procurement and contract obligations.
- Identify opportunities to improve delivery, minimise risk and achieve continuous improvement.
About you
You will have proven experience managing civil engineering, highways, infrastructure, utilities or related construction projects. A relevant qualification in civil engineering, construction management or a similar discipline is desirable, along with a recognised project management or health and safety qualification.
Strong knowledge of construction methods, contract processes, programme management and project controls is essential. You will be confident interpreting technical information, managing competing priorities and making sound decisions under pressure. Excellent communication, leadership and negotiation skills are required, together with a collaborative and proactive approach.
This is an excellent opportunity for a capable Project Manager to take ownership of significant civil projects, work with a diverse range of professionals and make a visible contribution to successful project outcomes.
