Construction Manager (Expatriate) | Gas-Fired Power Plant | Nigeria

Are you an experienced Construction Manager with a strong background in GE Frame 9 gas turbines and large-scale thermal power projects?

We are urgently seeking a Construction Manager to join a major brownfield gas-fired power plant project in Nigeria.

The Opportunity

This is a 252MW power generation project featuring 2 x GE Frame 9E Gas Turbines, with significant progress already achieved and the project now entering a critical phase towards completion and commissioning. The successful candidate will take ownership of construction activities, driving execution, coordination, safety, quality, and project delivery.

Key Requirements

• Extensive Construction Management experience on gas-fired power plants
• Strong hands-on experience with GE Frame 9 turbines (essential)
• Proven track record managing installation, construction, and commissioning activities on thermal power projects
• Experience leading multidisciplinary construction teams and contractors
• Strong HSE and quality management focus
• Previous international or expatriate project experience preferred

Project Details

• Location: Nigeria
• Project: Brownfield Gas-Fired Power Plant
• Capacity: 252MW
• Equipment includes GE Frame 9E turbines, HV switchyard infrastructure, transformers, gas receiving station, water treatment systems, compressed air systems, fire protection systems, and associated balance of plant equipment.

Responsibilities

• Provide overall construction leadership from installation through commissioning and handover
• Coordinate construction, fabrication, installation and commissioning activities
• Manage project schedules, methodologies and procedures
• Drive safety, environmental and quality compliance
• Interface with engineering, operations and project stakeholders
• Monitor progress and develop recovery plans where required
• Support project close-out and commissioning documentation processes

Salary: 7000 USD to 10,000 USD per month
