About the role

Civil Project Engineer

An exciting opportunity is available for a Civil Project Engineer to support the successful delivery of civil engineering projects from design through to completion. This role will suit a technically capable professional who can coordinate multiple stakeholders, manage project information and contribute to the delivery of safe, efficient and high-quality infrastructure.

Working closely with project managers, designers, contractors and clients, you will provide technical input throughout the project lifecycle. You will help ensure that works are delivered in accordance with approved designs, relevant standards, programme requirements and budgetary constraints.

Key responsibilities

  • Assist with the planning, coordination and delivery of civil engineering projects.
  • Review designs, specifications, drawings and construction methodologies to identify risks and opportunities.
  • Coordinate consultants, contractors and other project stakeholders to maintain effective project progress.
  • Monitor site activities, quality standards, health and safety requirements and environmental controls.
  • Prepare technical reports, progress updates, project records and other relevant documentation.
  • Support the management of project programmes, costs, variations, risks and technical queries.
  • Undertake site inspections and provide practical solutions to construction and engineering issues.
  • Ensure works comply with applicable legislation, industry standards, specifications and approved procedures.

About you

You will have a degree or equivalent qualification in civil engineering, construction or a related discipline, together with experience working on civil engineering or infrastructure projects. A sound understanding of construction methods, engineering principles, risk management and quality assurance is essential.

You should be confident interpreting technical drawings and specifications, communicating with a range of stakeholders and managing competing priorities. Strong organisational, analytical and problem-solving skills are required, along with a proactive approach and a commitment to delivering high standards.

Membership of a relevant professional body, or progress towards professional registration, would be advantageous. A valid driving licence and the ability to travel to project and site locations may also be required.
