About the role

Listings

An opportunity for an experienced cyber security professional to take ownership of security operations within a regulated organisation where reliable systems and operational resilience are essential.

The position combines practical oversight of cyber threats with the development of effective security controls. You will work with technical colleagues, business leaders and external partners to identify weaknesses, coordinate responses and improve the organisation’s ability to prevent and recover from security incidents.

The role

  • Coordinate day-to-day cyber security activity and prioritise improvements according to business risk.
  • Lead the response to security incidents, overseeing investigation, recovery and follow-up actions.
  • Help protect networks, infrastructure, cloud services and end-user devices.
  • Translate security risks into clear recommendations for technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Support security policies, assurance activity and compliance with relevant requirements.
  • Work with internal teams and suppliers to address vulnerabilities and strengthen operational resilience.

Your background

You will bring practical experience in cyber security operations or security management, supported by a sound understanding of enterprise technology and protective controls.

You should be comfortable taking responsibility during incidents, coordinating corrective action and explaining security priorities to colleagues across the business. Experience in a regulated or operationally demanding setting is essential, alongside familiarity with security governance, risk assessment and compliance.

Additional experience welcomed

  • A recognised professional security qualification, such as CISSP, CISM or an equivalent.
  • Experience gained in defence, transport, utilities or other critical infrastructure environments.
  • Familiarity with the protection of operational technology.
  • Knowledge of the NIS regulatory framework or NIS2.

Security requirements

Applicants must be eligible to undergo the security vetting required for the position. The applicable clearance level and assessment requirements will be explained during the recruitment process.
