About the role

Dartmouth Partners is working with a leading institutional investor managing over $100 billion across public and private markets that is looking to add a Credit Strategist to its Portfolio Strategy team.
This is a highly visible role sitting at the intersection of credit markets, asset allocation, portfolio construction, and risk management. The successful candidate will help shape top-down investment views and influence capital allocation decisions across a broad range of credit asset classes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and communicate forward-looking views on credit markets, translating insights into portfolio positioning and asset allocation recommendations.
  • Analyze relative value opportunities across public and private credit markets, including direct lending, asset-based finance, structured credit, real estate debt, investment grade, and high yield.
  • Monitor market trends, portfolio exposures, and risk factors to identify opportunities and potential areas of concern.
  • Conduct thematic, macroeconomic, and market research to support investment strategy and decision-making.
  • Present actionable investment recommendations and market insights to senior investment professionals and key stakeholders.

Key Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in credit research, portfolio strategy, asset allocation, portfolio management, or a related investment function.
  • Strong knowledge of public and/or private credit markets and the factors that drive performance across credit sectors.
  • Ability to connect macroeconomic developments and market conditions to investment and portfolio implications.
  • Excellent analytical, quantitative, and investment research skills, with the ability to distill complex information into clear recommendations.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills with experience influencing investment decisions and engaging senior stakeholders.
