We are seeking a dedicated and nurturing Teaching Assistant, ideally with experience supporting pupils with SEND, to join a small, supportive rural school on a temporary basis and provide full time support for a pupil who is returning to education after a period away from school. As part of a close knit school community where every child is known and valued, you will work closely with teaching staff and the wider support team to develop a positive and trusting relationship with the pupil, providing consistent support tailored to their individual needs. You will help them establish routines, overcome barriers to learning and achieve success both academically and personally. Every day will bring opportunities to celebrate progress and make a meaningful difference as the pupil takes important steps in their return to education.
The successful candidate will be calm, adaptable and empathetic, with the ability to respond sensitively to the needs of the child. Previous experience supporting pupils with SEND, SEMH needs, anxiety or other barriers to learning would be highly advantageous, as would a genuine commitment to helping every child reach their potential. In return, you will join a welcoming rural school with a caring ethos, supportive colleagues and a shared commitment to ensuring every pupil can thrive.
