About the Role

An established and growing mortgage brokerage is looking for an experienced Mortgage & Protection Broker to join its team in Aldridge.

Working from a high-performing estate agency environment, you will act as the in-house mortgage and protection specialist, advising customers on their financial requirements and helping them secure suitable mortgage and protection solutions.

The role offers a strong flow of warm, high-quality referrals, meaning there is no requirement for cold calling or generating business from scratch. You will also benefit from dedicated administrative support, allowing you to focus on advising clients, developing relationships and progressing business.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide whole-of-market mortgage advice based on clients’ individual needs and circumstances.
• Assess client requirements and recommend appropriate mortgage solutions.
• Advise on protection products including life insurance, critical illness cover and income protection.
• Develop strong relationships with customers, estate agency introducers and lenders.
• Work closely with the administration team to progress applications efficiently through to completion.
• Maintain an organised pipeline and ensure cases are managed proactively.
• Work within all relevant regulatory and compliance requirements.
• Keep up to date with lender criteria, mortgage products, protection solutions and industry developments.
• Participate in ongoing training, professional development and team activities.
• Contribute positively to the wider team and support continuous improvement.

Experience & Qualifications

• CeMAP qualified or hold an equivalent industry-recognised qualification.
• Previous experience providing mortgage and protection advice.
• Strong knowledge of the UK mortgage market and protection products.
• Experience using mortgage sourcing and research systems.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Confident advising customers face-to-face and via video or telephone.
• Ability to explain complex financial information clearly and professionally.
• Strong customer service and relationship-building skills.

Working Hours

• Monday to Friday, based around an eight-hour working day.
• Two later starts or finishes each week to accommodate customer availability.
• Alternate Saturdays, with a weekday off in lieu.
• No Sunday working.

Salary & Benefits

• £30,000 basic salary, with the opportunity for an increase following successful completion of probation.
