About the Role

A successful and expanding mortgage brokerage is recruiting a Mortgage & Protection Broker to work from its Cannock location.

The successful candidate will become the on-site mortgage and protection specialist, working closely with an estate agency team and advising customers who have been referred for financial advice.

You will receive a regular supply of warm leads and benefit from dedicated administrative support. This enables you to spend more time advising customers, developing relationships and progressing applications, rather than undertaking cold calling or extensive administrative work.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive whole-of-market mortgage advice.
• Assess customers’ financial circumstances and objectives before making suitable recommendations.
• Recommend appropriate protection solutions, including life, critical illness and income protection.
• Develop long-term relationships with customers and introducers.
• Work closely with the administration team to ensure applications are processed effectively.
• Liaise with lenders and other relevant parties throughout the mortgage process.
• Maintain a well-managed pipeline and proactively progress outstanding cases.
• Ensure all advice and activity complies with relevant regulations and internal procedures.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge through training and CPD.
• Contribute to a positive and collaborative team environment.

Experience & Qualifications

• Full CeMAP qualification or equivalent.
• Previous experience as a mortgage and protection adviser/broker.
• Strong knowledge of mortgage products, lender criteria and protection solutions.
• Familiarity with mortgage sourcing and research systems.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to explain financial concepts clearly to customers.
• Comfortable providing advice face-to-face and through digital channels.
• Strong commitment to customer service and good client outcomes.

Working Hours

• Monday to Friday, based on an eight-hour working day.
• Two later starts or finishes per week.
• Alternate Saturday working with a weekday off in lieu.
• No Sunday working.
