About the role

You’re the type who loves building what happens behind the scenes.

As our Backend Developer Intern, you’ll help power the “engine room” of StayingBee — the APIs, databases, and integrations that keep everything running smoothly.

You’ll work closely with our product and frontend teams to design, build, and optimize the systems that make our community-based accommodation platform fast, reliable, and scalable.

About the role

Develop and maintain backend features for StayingBee’s platform
Design and integrate RESTful or GraphQL APIs
Work with databases (PostgreSQL) to store and retrieve data efficiently
Collaborate with frontend developers to ensure seamless functionality
Help optimize quality, performance, scalability, and security
Experiment with cloud hosting and backend-as-a-service tools (Supabase, AWS, etc.)
Write clean, maintainable code with version control (Git/GitHub)

What We’re Looking For

Basic knowledge of Typescript or another backend language
Understanding of APIs (REST or GraphQL basics)
Familiarity with databases (PostgreSQL, MongoDB, or similar)
Curiosity for scalable, secure backend systems
Bonus: experience with Supabase, AWS or GCP
Understanding of authentication and authorization concepts
Eagerness to learn and contribute in a collaborative environment
