About the role

The Role

We have an exciting opportunity at PG Paper for an experienced Marketing Manager to lead our marketing function during a period of maternity leave – with potential to become a permanent role as our business continues to grow. You’ll take day-to-day ownership of marketing across the business, from project delivery and campaigns through to content, digital, events and PR.

A primary part of this role is project and business-change management: coordinating marketing and cross-functional projects from planning through to delivery, keeping activity on track and stakeholders aligned. Alongside this, you’ll drive our brand, content and SEO, manage our presence at industry events and exhibitions, and build our profile through PR and communications.

The ideal candidate will be highly motivated, organised and commercially minded, with the confidence to manage multiple workstreams independently and the creativity to help our brand stand out. You’ll be an effective communicator across every level of the business, with a results-focused mindset and an eye for detail.

This role is primarily office-based in Greenock, with potential hybrid flexibility, and offers the right person a real opportunity to shape our marketing as we grow.

Responsibilities:

  • Leading the project management element of the role – coordinating marketing and cross-functional projects from planning through to delivery, maintaining clear plans, milestones, actions and deadlines
  • Following up actions, resolving blockers and keeping activity moving, escalating where required
  • Planning, delivering and reporting on marketing campaigns across digital, content, events and PR
  • Owning and developing engaging, on-brand content across our social media channels and website
  • Driving our SEO strategy – producing SEO-optimised content and monitoring analytics to improve online visibility and rankings
  • Planning and delivering our presence at industry events, exhibitions and trade shows, from concept through to on-the-day management and follow-up
  • Managing our PR and communications – press releases, announcements and media relationships – to build our profile within the industry
  • Managing marketing budgets, timelines and external agencies or suppliers where required
  • Reporting on marketing performance to senior management, using KPIs and data-driven insight
  • Working closely with business development, sales and senior management to align marketing with wider company goals

Essential skills:

  • Proven marketing management experience, ideally in a standalone, interim or fast-growing environment
  • Strong project management and coordination skills, with the ability to drive multiple projects to completion
  • Experience creating and overseeing on-brand content across social media, website and wider communications
  • Strong understanding of SEO techniques, analytics tools and content strategies to drive organic growth
  • Experience planning and delivering events, exhibitions or trade shows
  • Confident writing press releases and managing media or industry-publication relationships
  • Comfortable working with data and performance metrics to guide decisions and demonstrate ROI
  • Excellent communication, organisation and stakeholder-management skills
  • A blend of entrepreneurial and process-driven mindsets, with meticulous attention to detail
  • Driven, resourceful, proactive and resilient – a team player as well as a motivated individual operator
