Role Overview
We are seeking a highly experienced SAP S/4HANA FICO Consultant to support a major SAP Finance implementation project.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the configuration, implementation, integration and functional support of SAP Financial Accounting (FI), Controlling (CO) and Asset Management (AM) modules, with particular emphasis on integration with Funds Management (FM) and logistics processes.
The role requires extensive SAP consulting experience, a strong background in public sector environments and proven experience managing project teams throughout the full SAP implementation lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide expert business and functional support across SAP S/4HANA Finance, including FI, CO and Asset Management.
• Lead and support the integration of SAP FICO with Funds Management (FM) and logistics functionality.
• Configure and implement SAP Finance solutions in line with business requirements and public sector processes.
• Gather, analyse and document functional and technical requirements.
• Support data migration, conversion, validation and reconciliation activities.
• Work closely with business stakeholders, technical teams and other SAP functional consultants to ensure seamless integration.
• Manage and coordinate joint teams of SAP consultants and client personnel throughout the project lifecycle.
• Apply SAP Activate methodology to support project delivery, testing and deployment.
• Produce high-quality functional specifications, configuration documentation and project deliverables in accordance with contractual obligations.
• Support system integration testing (SIT), user acceptance testing (UAT), deployment and post-go-live activities.
• Provide regular progress updates and contribute to maintaining the overall project master schedule.
• Identify and resolve functional issues, integration challenges, and process gaps.

Essential Skills and Experience

SAP Functional Expertise

• Minimum 10 years of overall SAP experience.
• At least 3 years of hands-on experience in each of SAP FI, CO and Asset Management (AM).
• Strong experience with SAP S/4HANA Finance configuration and implementation.
• In-depth understanding of SAP FICO integration with Funds Management and logistics processes.
• Proven ability to translate business requirements into SAP functional solutions.

Public Sector Experience

• Minimum 5 years of experience within the public sector, either as an SAP consultant or in a relevant business role.
• Strong understanding of public sector financial management, accounting processes and controls.
• Experience supporting complex public sector SAP implementations.

Project Delivery and Leadership

• Demonstrated experience managing combined teams of consultants and client staff across at least two complete project lifecycles.
• In-depth knowledge and practical application of SAP Activate methodology.
• Strong experience in SAP configuration, requirements documentation and data conversion support.
• Ability to manage multiple stakeholders, priorities and deliverables within a complex programme environment.

Communication

• Fluent English, both written and spoken.
• Excellent stakeholder management, communication and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to collaborate effectively within international and multicultural project teams.

Desirable Skills and Experience

• SAP debugging and technical troubleshooting skills.
• Ukrainian and/or Russian language proficiency.
• Experience using SAP Cloud ALM for implementation and application lifecycle management.
• Experience supporting changes to financial legislation and regulatory requirements.
• Previous experience working on government, defence or large-scale public sector transformation programmes.

Eligibility and Contractual Requirements

• Candidates must hold a passport from a NATO member country or possess NATO security clearance, subject to client eligibility requirements.
• Ukrainian passport holders may also be considered, subject to verification and approval.
• All billing and payments will be made in USD.
• The end customer's contractual terms and conditions must be flowed down to the end supplier.
• Any additional security screening or verification will be subject to end-client requirements.

Ideal Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate is a senior SAP S/4HANA Finance professional with extensive experience implementing and integrating FI, CO, Asset Management and Funds Management solutions in complex public sector environments.
They will have a proven track record of delivering end-to-end SAP implementations, leading cross-functional teams and working effectively with senior stakeholders.
Experience in government or defence-related SAP programmes, combined with strong knowledge of public sector financial processes, will be particularly advantageous.
