About the role

We are looking for an experienced Residential Conveyancer to manage a mixed residential property caseload of around 60-65 cases, from instruction through to completion.

Key responsibilities

  • Manage residential sales, purchases, remortgages and transfers of equity

  • Handle a range of additional residential matters, which may include shared ownership, new-build transactions, probate sales and first registrations

  • Work on both freehold and leasehold properties

  • Draft and approve contracts, transfer deeds and other conveyancing documents

  • Review searches, title documents and leases, and prepare reports on title for clients

  • Raise and respond to pre-contract enquiries, and follow up on outstanding replies

  • Keep clients updated throughout each transaction

  • Arrange the handover of completed files to the post-completion team

  • Ensure files meet anti-money laundering, source-of-funds and other risk and compliance requirements

  • Maintain accurate case management notes and file records

  • Manage and train a paralegal to support you with caseload matters.

About you

  • A qualified Solicitor, Licensed Conveyancer or Chartered Legal Executive, or an experienced conveyancing fee earner with equivalent expertise

  • Experience managing a residential conveyancing caseload from instruction through to completion

  • Confident handling freehold and leasehold transactions

  • Able to manage competing priorities, deadlines and a busy caseload with appropriate independence

  • Organised, methodical and attentive to detail

  • A clear and professional communicator with a strong client-care approach

  • Comfortable using case management systems and online search providers

  • A collaborative approach and commitment to maintaining high standards of service and compliance
