About the role

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Residential Conveyancer to manage a varied residential property caseload from instruction through to completion. You will take ownership of the legal work, provide clear updates to clients and other parties, and ensure files meet relevant compliance requirements.

Key responsibilities

  • Manage a caseload of residential sales, purchases, remortgages and transfers of equity

  • Handle a range of additional residential matters, such as shared ownership, first registrations, probate sales and new-build transactions

  • Work on both freehold and leasehold properties

  • Draft and approve contracts and transfer deeds

  • Raise and respond to pre-contract enquiries, following up on outstanding replies

  • Review searches, title documents and leases, and prepare reports on title for clients

  • Prepare completion statements and request mortgage funds

  • Agree and manage exchange and completion dates

  • Keep clients, estate agents, brokers and other firms informed throughout the transaction

  • Arrange the handover of completed files to the post-completion team

  • Ensure files meet anti-money laundering, source-of-funds and risk requirements

  • Maintain accurate case management notes and file records

About you

  • Qualified Solicitor, Licensed Conveyancer or Chartered Legal Executive, or an experienced conveyancing fee earner with equivalent expertise

  • At least five years’ experience managing a mixed residential conveyancing caseload

  • Confident handling freehold and leasehold matters

  • Able to manage a busy caseload independently and with minimal supervision

  • Well organised, self-motivated and comfortable working remotely

  • A clear and professional communicator with strong client-care skills

  • Experienced in using case management systems and online search providers
