Job Advert: Aircraft Mechanical Team Leader – AW189 Production
Location: Italy
Start: Immediate starts available
Pay: Extremely competitive
We’re looking for an experienced Aircraft Mechanical Team Leader to join an AW189 helicopter production program in Italy.
You’ll be leading a team of around five Aircraft Mechanical Fitters, making sure work is completed to the required standard and that production stays on track. This is a hands-on role, so we need someone with a strong aircraft production background who understands the work their team is carrying out and can step in to support when needed. The site target is four aircraft per month, with one aircraft built approximately every 10 days. You’ll play an important part in keeping your team organised, productive and working to schedule.
Your responsibilities will include:
-
Leading and supporting a team of approximately five Aircraft Mechanical Fitters.
-
Allocating work and keeping track of work-pack progress.
-
Making sure mechanical fitting, installation and assembly work is completed correctly and on time.
-
Supporting the team with hydraulic installations, mechanical systems, structural assembly and component fitting.
-
Helping resolve technical issues and dealing with defects as they arise.
-
Making sure work is carried out in line with approved drawings, work-packs and manufacturing procedures.
-
Monitoring productivity and identifying anything that could affect the production schedule.
-
Keeping management updated on progress, outstanding work and any issues.
-
Maintaining high standards of workmanship and quality across the team.
What We’re Looking For
-
Previous experience leading or supervising aircraft fitters in a production environment.
-
Strong hands-on aircraft mechanical fitting and assembly experience.
-
Helicopter production experience would be a big advantage.
-
Experience working to work-packs, technical documentation and production deadlines.
-
Someone who can organise a team, solve problems and keep work moving.
-
A practical, hands-on approach with the ability to lead by example.
-
Flexibility to work different shift patterns when required.
-
The right to work in the EU.
-
Working references available on application.
Candidates from an aircraft maintenance background may also be considered, provided they have the relevant production experience and can demonstrate that they’re comfortable leading a team in a manufacturing environment.
Pay and Benefits
-
Extremely competitive pay.
-
10% shift enhancement for nights.
-
Up to €250 travel allowance.
-
Opportunity to work on the AW189 helicopter production programme in Italy.
Start Date
Immediate starts are available, subject to registration, right-to-work checks and satisfactory working references.
If you have a strong aircraft production background and experience leading a team of fitters, get in touch to discuss the opportunity.
