Senior Hygiene Operative

We are looking for a Senior Hygiene Machine Operative to join our Hygiene team at JDM Food Group.

This is a site-based role at our Bicker facility, reporting to the Site Hygiene Manager, working on a 2/2/3 shift pattern from 17:00 to 05:00, with an hourly rate of £15.53

In this role you will operate as a skilled hygiene operative and support the hygiene team by safely stripping down, cleaning and rebuilding production machinery following hygiene cleaning operations. You will play an important part in ensuring machines are cleaned to the required standards and correctly rebuilt so that production can start safely and on time.

Working closely with Hygiene, Engineering and Production teams, you will help ensure equipment is handled safely, cleaning tasks are completed properly and machines are ready for the next production shift.

Key Responsibilities

• Reassemble production equipment following hygiene strip-down and cleaning.
• Carry out hygiene cleaning tasks including foam cleaning, rinsing and sanitising of equipment and production areas.
• Work closely with Hygiene Supervisors and Production during machine handover.
• Follow lock-off procedures and SOPs.

About You

• Good understanding of mechanical assembly of production equipment.
• Knowledge of hygiene cleaning methods including foam cleaning and sanitising.
• Ability to safely handle cleaning chemicals and equipment.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Ability to follow structured procedures.
• Ability to work in physically demanding environments.

Skills & Experience

• Food Hygiene Level 2
• COSHH awareness or chemical handling training.
• Experience working in food production environments.
• Mechanical aptitude or experience with equipment assembly.
• Understanding of hygiene and food safety principles.
• Knowledge of safe working practices and lock-off procedures.
