About the job

We are looking for Production Cutting Operatives to join our Production team at JDM Food Group, working within our Whole Head department, handling fresh Garlic and Ginger bulbs.

You do not need previous food manufacturing experience, however if you have experience within a fast-paced environment where attention to detail is key, we will provide the training you need.

What you will be doing

You will cut garlic and ginger bulbs to the required sizes, set up and operate production machinery, prepare and pack products, check quality throughout production and report any problems with machinery or products.

You will also follow food safety procedures, move and stack products where required and keep your work area clean and safe.

What we are looking for

You will be willing to learn, comfortable working in a busy factory environment and able to follow instructions safely while maintaining excellent standards of quality.

You will need to be able to read, understand and communicate in English to the level required for training, safety instructions and production records.

Basic numeracy skills are also required for production checks, quantities and records.

Previous experience or an interest in machinery, manufacturing or food production would be helpful, but is not essential.

The role requires completing repetitive tasks and the factory environment will include noise, food smells and changes in temperature.

You will be comfortable completing manual handling tasks and working as part of a team.

Your shift and pay

You will work a 4 on 4 off shift pattern, from 07:00 to 19:00, following a rota so you will know your working days in advance.

The rate of pay is £12.76 per hour, paid weekly.

The average working week is 40.25 hours.

You will also receive 20 days annual leave plus an extra day off for your birthday.
