Become Our Health, Safety and Environmental Officer

The Role

A position has become vacant within the Operations Department at Isothane Ltd for someone to ensure that the company satisfies its legal obligations with respect to the Environment Agency and the Health and Safety Executive. Isothane are a polyurethane systems house and operate a lower tier COMAH site with Authorisation from the Environment Agency.

Main Duties

• To ensure that all the requirements of the Environment Agency within the Environmental Permit (IPPC) are monitored and fulfilled at all times.
• To carry out and administrate safety and environmental audits.
• To co-ordinate with outside resources with regard to environmental and safety issues.
• Ensure all necessary Risk Assessments (e.g. COSHH, Occupational Health and Statutory Inspections) are completed and on time.
• To be first point of contact for the enforcement authorities.
• To ensure that ALL company personnel are trained in all Health, Safety and Environmental issues in their roles within the company.

The Ideal Candidate

minimum of 5 years experience within a chemical company. Have an IOSH / NEBOSH qualification and must be able to demonstrate good knowledge and experience in current Health, Safety and Environmental requirements and legislation.
