About the role
Senior Superintendent
An experienced Senior Superintendent is required to lead the safe, efficient and successful delivery of major construction projects. This role will oversee site operations from mobilisation through to completion, ensuring that work is delivered to programme, within budget and to the required quality standards.
You will provide visible leadership across the site, coordinating subcontractors, suppliers, consultants and internal teams. Working closely with the Project Manager and wider delivery team, you will develop construction strategies, monitor progress and resolve issues promptly to maintain momentum and minimise disruption.
Key responsibilities
- Lead day-to-day site operations and coordinate multiple work packages.
- Develop and maintain short-term and detailed construction programmes.
- Ensure all works comply with approved drawings, specifications, contracts and inspection requirements.
- Promote a strong culture of health, safety, environmental responsibility and quality.
- Manage subcontractor performance, sequencing, productivity and coordination.
- Review progress, identify risks and implement effective recovery plans where required.
- Attend site meetings and provide accurate updates on progress, resourcing and potential challenges.
- Support commercial control by monitoring variations, delays, labour and material requirements.
- Mentor site managers, engineers and supervisors, encouraging high standards of performance and collaboration.
About you
You will have substantial experience in a senior site leadership position, ideally delivering complex or high-value construction projects. A strong understanding of construction methods, temporary works, health and safety legislation, quality assurance and programme management is essential.
You should be a confident communicator and decisive problem-solver, able to build effective relationships while maintaining focus on contractual, safety and operational requirements. The ability to interpret technical information, manage competing priorities and remain calm under pressure will be important.
What is offered
This opportunity offers the chance to play a key role in the delivery of a significant project, working within a professional and supportive environment. A competitive salary and benefits package will be provided, together with opportunities for continued development and progression.
