Senior Claims Handler – Care Sector

We are recruiting for an exciting opportunity to join a collaborative, supportive and hardworking Care Claims team, where you'll manage a varied portfolio of technical claims and have real scope to develop your career.
Working across the care, education and not-for-profit sectors, you'll handle complex and sensitive claims while taking ownership of decisions and developing effective strategies.

What You'll Be Doing:
You'll manage a varied caseload of claims involving organisations such as residential care providers, specialist adult care services, schools, charities and foster care providers.
Your work will include:


Handling claims involving personal injury, professional liability, public liability, management liability and historic abuse


Managing claims from initial notification through to settlement or resolution


Assessing liability, policy coverage and potential exposure


Developing and driving effective claims strategies, including litigated matters


Working closely with insurers, brokers, solicitors and external experts


Building strong stakeholder relationships and managing competing priorities

What We're Looking For:
Essential:


Experience handling technical insurance claims or a relevant legal background


A strong understanding of liability claims and insurance policy wordings


The ability to manage a varied caseload and progress claims independently


Strong communication, organisational and decision-making skills


A proactive approach and a genuine interest in the care sector


Desirable:


Experience within care, healthcare, education or related sectors


Exposure to Employers' Liability, Public Liability, Professional Indemnity or Management Liability claims


Experience handling personal injury, professional negligence or sensitive claims


Legal qualifications or a willingness to study towards CII qualifications
