Solar PV Roofers

We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Roofer & Solar PV Installation Specialist to join our renewable energy team. The primary focus of this role is to prepare, adapt, and structurally secure Solar PV mounting systems onto various residential and commercial roof types before fixing the solar modules. You will ensure that all roof penetrations remain completely weather-tight, preserve the structural integrity of the roof, and work seamlessly alongside our electrical installation team.

Key Responsibilities

· Roof Preparation & Structural Survey: Inspect roof structures for stability, identify pre-existing damage, and determine the optimal layout for mounting brackets according to architectural plans.

· Bracket & Rail Installation: Accurately measure, align, and mechanically secure roof anchors, hooks, and portrait/landscape rail configurations to roof timbers (rafters/trusses).

· Weatherproofing & Flashing: Remove and replace slate, tile, or metal sheeting expertly to install mounting hardware. Apply specialized solar flashings and flashing kits to guarantee 100% weather-tight seals and prevent water ingress.

· Module Mounting: Safely lift, position, and mechanically clamp Solar PV modules onto the rail system, managing the integrated module cabling safely beneath the array.

· Roofing Maintenance & Making Good: Perform general roof repairs, replace broken tiles or slates disturbed during installation, and leave the roof aesthetics matching or exceeding its original condition.

· Health & Safety: Maintain absolute compliance with working at heights regulations, correctly utilize edge protection, scaffolding, harnesses, and fall-arrest systems.
