Robotic Welder

Key Responsibilities

• Set up and operate robotic welding machines and automated welding systems.

• Load and unload components into robotic welding fixtures.

• Select and run the correct welding programmes for specific components.

• Monitor robotic welding cycles to ensure consistent production output.

• Adjust welding parameters where authorised, including voltage, wire feed speed and welding speed.

• Ensure components are correctly positioned and secured before welding.

• Monitor welding wire, gas supplies and consumables.

• Identify and report machine faults, programming issues and production problems.

• Carry out routine cleaning and basic preventative maintenance of robotic welding equipment.

• Maintain production targets while minimising downtime and material waste.

• Follow production schedules, work instructions and standard operating procedures.

Requirements

Training and Qualifications

• Previous welding or fabrication experience preferred.

• Robotic welding operator training desirable.

• MIG/MAG welding knowledge advantageous.

• Manual handling training.

• Health and safety training.

• Robotic cell safety training.

• Ability to understand technical drawings and work instructions.
