Senior UX Designer

We're partnering with a well-established digital agency to find a Senior UX Designer who can combine strong end-to-end UX skills with confident client-facing experience.

This is a broad, hands-on role where you'll work across research, journey mapping, usability testing, ideation, wireframing and prototyping, through to collaborating closely with UI and Engineering to bring ideas into delivery. You'll be embedded within a cross-functional squad, working on a large, complex e-commerce product with plenty of autonomy and visibility.

We're looking for a well-rounded Senior UX Designer with strong agency experience, excellent stakeholder skills and a commercial mindset. Retail, e-commerce or complex B2B experience would be highly valuable. You'll need to be collaborative, pragmatic and comfortable working at pace, with the confidence to lead conversations and shape work without needing to be the loudest person in the room.

The client

We’re partnering with an established digital experience agency that works with major retail and e-commerce brands to improve complex customer journeys and digital products.

They combine UX, research, strategy and delivery, working closely with client teams across product, design and engineering. With a strong reputation in retail and commerce, they’re now looking for a Senior UX Designer to take a key role within one of their largest client accounts.

This is a highly client-facing, hands-on opportunity where you’ll work across research, journey mapping, prototyping and usability through to delivery. You’ll have plenty of autonomy, work as part of an experienced cross-functional squad, and help shape both the product experience and the wider client relationship.

The role

As a Senior UX Designer, you’ll play a key role within a cross-functional squad, working closely with client stakeholders, UI and Engineering to improve a large, complex digital product.

This is a broad, hands-on role covering the full UX process, from research and journey mapping through to prototyping, usability testing and delivery. You’ll have plenty of autonomy, but you’ll also need to be highly collaborative and comfortable working as part of a wider team.

You’ll be involved in:

• Leading UX activity across research, journey mapping, ideation, wireframing, prototyping and usability testing
• Using research, data and customer insight to identify problems and shape practical solutions
• Turning complex requirements into clear, intuitive user journeys
• Working closely with client stakeholders to understand priorities, present ideas and shape the direction of work
• Collaborating with UI Designers and Developers to take concepts through to delivery
• Working directly in Figma to develop and communicate ideas
• Contributing to and maintaining design systems, patterns and standards
• Helping shape the product roadmap and identify opportunities to improve the wider customer experience
• Working across a complex e-commerce environment with multiple user journeys and product considerations
• Taking ownership of your work while remaining collaborative, pragmatic and comfortable working at pace

The candidate

We’re looking for a Senior UX Designer who combines strong end-to-end UX capability with confident client-facing skills and a commercial mindset. This role is ideal for someone who is comfortable getting into the detail of complex user journeys, but can also step back, understand the bigger picture and help shape the direction of the work.

Essential experience

• Strong commercial experience as a Senior UX Designer, ideally within an agency or consultancy environment
• Broad end-to-end UX experience across research, journey mapping, ideation, wireframing, prototyping and usability testing
• Experience working on complex digital products, ideally within retail, e-commerce or similarly transactional environments
• Strong ability to turn research, data and customer insight into practical product improvements
• Experience working closely with UI Designers, Developers and other members of a cross-functional squad
• Confidence presenting to clients and senior stakeholders and clearly articulating UX thinking and recommendations
• Comfortable taking ownership of work while still operating as part of a collaborative team
• Strong product thinking, with the ability to expand on a brief and identify opportunities beyond the initial ask
• Comfortable working at pace and adapting quickly as priorities change

Desirable

• Experience working with major retail or e-commerce clients
• Experience within B2B or complex commerce environments
• Experience working with large product catalogues, account-based journeys or other complex transactional experiences
• Experience contributing to or maintaining design systems
• Experience helping grow client relationships by identifying valuable opportunities for further work
