About the role

We’re working with an early-stage software company looking for a Software Engineer who is genuinely excited by how AI is changing the way software is built. The clientThey’re building an AI-led software platform in the cybersecurity space, using autonomous agents to tackle complex technical problems. It’s a small, highly technical environment where engineers have a lot of freedom to experiment, build and ship. They’re less concerned with years of experience and more interested in finding someone who is naturally curious, spends time exploring new AI tools and genuinely enjoys building software.   The roleAs a Software Engineer, you’ll join an early-stage software business building AI-led products in the cybersecurity space. This is a hands-on role for someone who is genuinely excited by AI-native development and enjoys experimenting with new tools, agents and ways of building software. You’ll have plenty of autonomy and will be encouraged to move quickly, test ideas and take ownership of what you build. A key focus of the role is on agentic development, particularly building systems where multiple AI agents can communicate, coordinate and hand work off to one another. You’ll be involved in: Building and developing AI-powered software products Working with AI agents and multi-agent systems Developing workflows where agents can communicate, coordinate and delegate tasks Using AI coding tools such as Claude Code, Cursor, Codex or similar as part of your development process Experimenting with MCP, orchestration tools and emerging agent frameworks Building across the full software development lifecycle, from idea and prototyping through to testing and deployment Working across backend and full-stack development depending on the problem Rapidly testing new tools, models and approaches to understand what works best Taking ownership of problems and working independently in an output-focused environment Contributing ideas around how AI can be used to improve both the product and the way software is built The candidateWe’re looking for a graduate or early-career Software Engineer who is genuinely excited by AI-native development and how agents are changing the way software is built. You don’t need years of commercial experience. What matters most is that you have strong software engineering foundations, are naturally curious, and are already experimenting with AI tools and agentic development — whether that’s through work, university projects or things you’ve built in your own time. Essential experience Strong foundations in software engineering, ideally across backend or full-stack development Hands-on experience using AI coding tools such as Claude Code, Cursor, Codex or similar Experience building with AI agents or agentic workflows, whether commercially or through personal/academic projects Some exposure to multi-agent systems, particularly where agents communicate, coordinate or hand work off to one another Comfortable working with APIs, integrations and modern development tooling Evidence of building software, whether through work, university, GitHub or personal projects Genuine interest in new AI models, tools and ways of working Comfortable taking ownership of problems and learning quickly in an output-focused environment Able to explain how you use AI within your own development workflow and what you’ve experimented with Desirable Experience with LangGraph, MCP or similar orchestration tooling Personal projects involving multi-agent systems or agent-to-agent communication Experience with Python, TypeScript or modern full-stack frameworks Experience deploying applications to cloud environments GitHub projects or other examples of things you’ve built Experience working in a startup or similarly fast-moving environment Interest in cybersecurity or autonomous security tooling If you’re a graduate or early-career Software Engineer who spends time experimenting with new AI tools, building side projects and exploring how far agents can go, we’d love to hear from you.
