Interim Legal Risk & Compliance Manager – Initial 6 Months+ – South East – Hybrid Working – Up to £450 per day UmbrellaVenn Group’s specialist Public Sector Legal team are currently recruiting for an Interim Legal Risk & Compliance Manager to join the Legal Team of a well-established Public Sector Organisation in the South East on an interim basis.Reporting directly to the Director of Legal, this is an excellent opportunity to take on a senior position within an established in-house legal function, providing specialist advice and supporting the organisation’s approach to legal risk, regulatory compliance and information governance.Role Details:Position: Interim Legal Risk & Compliance ManagerLocation: South EastTeam: In-house Legal TeamWorking Arrangement: Hybrid – approximately 2 days per week on siteDuration: Initial 6 months+ with the possibility of extensionRate: Up to £450 per day UmbrellaStart Date: ASAPClearance: Active SC clearance essentialDuties may include:
Supporting the Legal Team in developing and improving the organisation’s approach to legal risk and compliance.Providing specialist risk and compliance advice on national security, export controls and international regulatory requirements.Advising on information governance, information security and data protection matters, including the assessment of data protection breaches.Identifying, assessing and managing legal and regulatory risks across the organisation.Supporting the Director of Legal with the development and review of legal policies, procedures and compliance frameworks.Working closely with in-house lawyers and senior stakeholders to ensure legal and regulatory obligations are met.Contributing to legal risk reporting, assurance, training and compliance guidance.Line management responsibility for one Associate.
Candidate Requirements:
Substantial experience in legal risk and compliance management, ideally within an in-house legal function.Strong Information Governance and Information Security background.Knowledge of national security, export controls and complex regulatory requirements.Experience providing specialist advice to senior stakeholders and working closely with legal teams.Excellent communication, analytical and stakeholder management skills.Experience developing policies, procedures, training and guidance.A relevant degree and active SC clearance is essential.
