Senior Product Owner / Product Project Manager — Internal Products

Umber.Tech | Remote | Full-time | Senior Level

About the Role

Umber.Tech is looking for a Senior Product Owner / Product Project Manager to take ownership of our internal IT products — from identifying user needs and making product decisions to organising delivery and evaluating outcomes.

We are looking for someone with strong product thinking who can independently identify opportunities for improvement, define priorities, translate business needs into practical solutions, and drive implementation together with the development team.

This is a hands-on role combining Product Ownership, independent decision-making, and Delivery Management.

You will work closely with the CTO, manage priorities across multiple products, and have a direct impact on how our internal tools evolve.

Our Internal Products

You will work with four internal products at different stages of development:

  • Meeting Notes — a tool for recording meetings, transcription, and AI-assisted management of meeting context and information.
  • Applicant Tracking System (ATS) — an internal platform for managing vacancies, candidates, and recruitment workflows.
  • Human Resource Management (HRM) — a platform for managing employees, projects, work reports, leave, and team availability.
  • Task Manager — an emerging product focused on task and project management, including AI-assisted workflows.

Some products require continuous improvement, while others offer opportunities to build new functionality and solutions from scratch.

What You Will Do

Product Ownership & Development

  • Take ownership of internal product development based on user and business needs.
  • Proactively identify product problems and opportunities for improvement.
  • Collect and analyse feedback from internal users and stakeholders.
  • Define product initiatives, evaluate their business value, and set priorities.
  • Own and maintain product backlogs, priorities, and roadmaps.
  • Prepare clear product requirements and acceptance criteria.
  • Evaluate the outcomes of implemented changes and identify further improvements.

Delivery & Engineering Collaboration

  • Organise the delivery of product initiatives from planning through release.
  • Work directly with the CTO and development team.
  • Align product priorities with technical capabilities and available engineering resources.
  • Manage dependencies, identify risks, and adapt plans when priorities change.
  • Maintain clear communication and transparency around delivery progress.
  • Ensure that implemented solutions address the original product requirements.

Hands-on Product Work & UX

  • Analyse user journeys and identify usability improvements.
  • Independently prepare user flows, wireframes, and simple prototypes, including with AI tools.
  • Translate user needs into actionable requirements for developers.
  • Participate in functionality validation and acceptance testing.
  • Gather feedback after releases and use it to inform further product decisions.

AI & Automation

  • Apply AI tools in everyday product work, including research, analysis, requirements preparation, and prototyping.
  • Identify opportunities to use AI to improve internal products and automate workflows.
  • Evaluate the practical value and limitations of AI-assisted solutions.

What We Are Looking For

  • 4+ years of experience in Product Ownership, Product Management, or a closely related product role.
  • Practical experience developing and improving IT products.
  • Experience launching a product or significant functionality from 0 to 1.
  • Experience managing multiple products or product areas.
  • Strong practical understanding of the product development lifecycle.
  • Experience with product discovery, user needs analysis, and evaluating product outcomes.
  • Hands-on experience with backlog management, prioritisation, roadmapping, and product requirements.
  • Experience organising delivery and collaborating directly with development teams.
  • Ability to manage dependencies, technical constraints, and changing priorities.
  • Practical UX understanding and the ability to create user flows, wireframes, or simple prototypes. Experience with a specific tool such as Figma is not required.
  • Practical experience using AI tools in professional workflows.
  • Strong product thinking, business thinking, and independent decision-making.
  • High ownership, autonomy, proactivity, and willingness to work hands-on.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills.
  • English B2–C1.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with B2B, SaaS, or internal products.
  • Experience in HR Tech or Recruiting Tech.
  • Experience in small or growing product teams.
  • Understanding of APIs, JavaScript-based technologies, and technical constraints.
  • Familiarity with GDPR and products handling personal data.
  • Experience establishing or improving product management processes.

Why Join Umber.Tech?

  • Take ownership of several real internal products.
  • Influence product decisions and development priorities directly.
  • Work closely with the CTO and company leadership.
  • Enjoy a high level of autonomy and responsibility.
  • Help shape product management practices and internal workflows.
  • Work with AI-powered products and modern technologies.
  • Build a long-term collaboration with potential opportunities across other internal and client products.
