About the role

Backup Solutions Consultant

Soitron is looking for an experienced backup & recovery consultant to work for one of our long-term outsourcing clients, a global technology company. You will join a small backup team (an architect and a senior consultant) and independently drive customer projects – from gathering requirements to delivery and documentation. This is not ticket-based support: it is project-oriented consulting work in direct contact with end customers.

Job offer informationWhat will you do:

Work directly with customers, understand their needs and proactively identify what should be improved
Design, implement and optimize backup & recovery solutions (Veeam, HPE Data Protector)
Assess existing environments, troubleshoot complex issues, support migrations and upgrades
Prepare and maintain technical documentation
Contribute to technical proposals and solution designs; act as a backup for your teammates

Personality assumptions and skills

5+ years of experience in IT infrastructure, with a substantial part in backup & recovery
Strong hands-on knowledge of Veeam Backup & Replication and/or HPE Data Protector (in-depth in one, practical experience with the other)
Linux (RHEL/SUSE), Windows Server, hardware infrastructure (servers, SAN/NAS storage)
Virtualization – VMware vSphere / Hyper-V
Experience in a customer-facing or consulting role and with writing technical documentation
Slovak or Czech language (mandatory)
Proactive attitude, ownership, good communication skills

Nice to have

IBM Spectrum Protect (TSM)
Networking basics (LAN/WAN, throughput, backup windows)
Immutable backups, ransomware protection, DR/BC (RPO/RTO), cloud targets (S3/Azure Blob)
Certifications: Veeam (VMCE/VMCA), HPE, VMware VCP
