About the role
Internship with SLA
— spring 2027
We are looking for talented students with an interest in nature-based design to join everyday life at our studios in Copenhagen and Aarhus in spring 2027. The internship is open to students of architecture, urban planning, urban design, and landscape architecture.
An internship with SLA will give you practical experience working across different project scales and phases, from early-stage design to implementation, in both Nordic and international contexts. We tailor each internship to align with your skills, ambitions, and goals. Former interns have contributed to innovative projects such as the Grønningen & Bispeparken Climate Park in Copenhagen, the Middle East’s first urban biodiversity park, and the 520-acre resilient masterplan for Downsview in Toronto.
As an intern, you will work alongside dedicated colleagues from a wide range of disciplines in a creative, informal and varied working environment. A project architect will support you throughout your internship and follow the projects you contribute to. Whenever possible, you will also take part in site visits and meetings with clients and collaborators. We value an informal tone and have a workplace culture with room to take the initiative, ask questions, and become wiser in the process.
Your educational background and what we expect from you
We expect you to be studying architecture, urban planning, urban design, or landscape architecture at the Royal Danish Academy, AARCH, KU, AAU, AHO, NMBU, NTNU, or a similar institution. You may apply while completing your bachelor’s degree, but it must be completed before the internship begins on February 1, 2027. We cannot offer an internship if you have already graduated with a master’s degree.
It is essential that you:
— Are creative and good at visualizing thoughts and ideas – either by hand, on the screen, or in the model workshop.
— Are a quick learner who is comfortable working independently.
— Are proficient in the Adobe package, AutoCAD, and 3D softwares, especially Rhino.
— Are approachable and curious.
— Have strong English proficiency.
— Have a green beating heart. An interest in city nature is a plus.

Working hours and conditions
The internship runs from February 1 to June 30, 2027, and working hours are 37 hours per week. You will be included in our lunch scheme and social activities, with fruit, tea, and freshly ground coffee available in our kitchens.
How do you apply for the internship?
Please send your cover letter, CV, and portfolio as PDF files to hr@sla.dk. In the subject line, write ‘Internship Copenhagen’ or ‘Internship Aarhus’ to indicate your preferred office. If you want to apply for both offices, please write ‘Internship Copenhagen/Aarhus’. A portfolio is not required if you study urban planning or a related field.
Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis and treated confidentially. Please submit your application by Friday, November 13, 2026. If you have any questions, please contact us at hr@sla.dk.
