Job Overview

Compliance Analyst

The role

The Compliance Analyst will support the Legal and Compliance team in delivering due diligence, compliance monitoring and reporting across Seopa’s business relationships. The role will help identify and address compliance risks, maintain accurate records and support good customer outcomes.

Your primary focus will be the compliance of business partners that introduce customers to Seopa or offer our comparison services. Completing due diligence for other business teams, including reviews of commercial partners and suppliers, will also form an ongoing part of your responsibilities.

You will work within the Legal and Compliance team, undertaking due diligence, compliance monitoring and related activities under the guidance and supervision of senior team members. This is a new junior role in a growing L&C team with excellent scope to progress and develop your career in compliance within the Fintech sector.

We will provide training in Seopa’s partner arrangements, regulatory requirements and internal processes, alongside regular supervision and support from senior members of the Legal and Compliance team.

Key responsibilities

Partner due diligence

  • Carry out onboarding due diligence on prospective partners, reviewing company and ownership information, business activities, regulatory status and supporting documents. Liaise with partners and colleagues to obtain missing information and resolve queries.
  • Complete scheduled reviews and assess relevant changes in partner circumstances. Document findings, identify risks and prepare recommendations for review.
  • Support due diligence processes across other business teams, including assessments of prospective commercial partners and suppliers, with priorities agreed within the Legal and Compliance team.

Compliance monitoring

  • Review partner websites, marketing materials and customer communications against regulatory requirements and internal standards, identifying potential issues or risks to customers.
  • Monitor whether partners operate within the scope of their agreed activities and escalate potential breaches or other concerns promptly.
  • Track agreed actions, liaise with partners and colleagues to resolve outstanding issues and maintain evidence of completion.

Records and reporting

  • Maintain accurate due diligence files, partner records and action logs, including approvals, changes and the termination of relationships.
  • Prepare monthly management information on due diligence activity, monitoring findings, outstanding actions and emerging trends for review by senior colleagues.
  • Assist with the preparation of regulatory notifications, submissions and internal governance reports, including information for the Financial Conduct Authority. Regulatory submissions will be reviewed and approved by authorised colleagues.

Wider compliance support

  • Contribute to other Legal and Compliance tasks and projects as required, such as Consumer Duty initiatives, regulatory change or process improvements. Responsibilities will be appropriate to your role and experience, with priorities agreed with senior team members.

Technology and process improvement

  • Use Excel and other approved systems to manage information, analyse findings and produce reports. Contribute ideas to improve workflows, consistency and record keeping.
  • With guidance, contribute to the use of AI and automation tools where appropriate, checking outputs for accuracy and handling confidential and personal information in line with company requirements.

Essential experience

We are looking for someone with around one to two years’ experience in work involving compliance checks, due diligence, quality assurance, or reviewing information against policies and procedures. This could have been gained in compliance, risk, operations, customer service or administration. We also welcome transferable skills gained through other roles or relevant training.

The successful candidate should also have:

  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to assess information, identify inconsistencies and maintain reliable records.
  • Strong organisation skills and the ability to manage competing priorities, follow agreed procedures and meet deadlines.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain findings and liaise effectively with colleagues and external partners.
  • Practical experience using Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, and the ability to learn new systems.
  • Sound judgement, a professional approach to confidential information and a willingness to seek guidance and develop your knowledge.
  • Experience using AI tools to support research, analysis or process improvement.

Desirable experience – Experience in some of the following would be beneficial.

  • Experience in financial services, insurance or another regulated environment, including compliance, risk, operations, customer service or administration.
  • Experience in due diligence, compliance monitoring, quality assurance or preparing management reports.
  • Exposure to Power BI, Power Automate or similar tools for reporting or workflow automation.

We recognise that relevant skills can be developed through different career paths. If you are interested in the role, we encourage you to apply even if your experience does not match all the criteria.
