About the role

Team Leader – Homecare

River Exe Healthcare

Pay: £14.50 per hour weekdays | £14.60 per hour weekends
Location: Based at our Exmouth office, covering Exmouth, Exeter and Honiton, with occasional travel to other sites across Cornwall to meet business needs.

Help us deliver great care by supporting the people who provide it.

Are you an experienced care professional who enjoys supporting others, building relationships and making a difference to the quality of care people receive?

We're looking for a motivated and approachable Team Leader to join River Exe Healthcare.

This is a hands-on role where you'll work closely with our care teams, service users and their families, helping ensure people receive safe, consistent and person-centred care in their own homes.

You'll be the important link between our community-based care staff and office team, providing guidance, encouragement and practical support.

This isn't just an office-based role. You'll spend up to 80% of your working week out in the community, supporting staff and visiting the people we care for.

What you'll be doing

As a Team Leader, you'll have a varied role that includes:

  • Supporting and developing care staff through supervision, mentoring, observations and identifying training needs.

  • Overseeing the care of a designated group of service users, completing assessments, care reviews and risk assessments.

  • Building positive relationships with service users, their families and our care teams.

  • Maintaining high standards of care, ensuring support is person-centred, safe and meets regulatory requirements.

  • Helping with the day-to-day running of the service, including staff coordination, rotas, record keeping and responding to changing care needs.

  • Supporting new team members, including community-based inductions, shadowing and recruitment.

  • Providing hands-on care when required to help maintain continuity of service.

You'll also participate in shared out-of-hours duty responsibilities, including some weekends, and work closely with the Registered Manager to support service quality and compliance.

What we're looking for

We're looking for someone who leads by example, communicates well and genuinely enjoys helping others develop.

You'll need:

  • Experience and a good understanding of providing care and support to people in their own homes.

  • A Level 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care, or willingness to work towards it.

  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.

  • A sound understanding of good care practices, safeguarding, health and safety, and risk management.

  • The ability to remain calm under pressure, manage your time and work independently.

  • A flexible approach to working, including community visits and out-of-hours responsibilities.

  • A professional, reliable and supportive approach to working with colleagues and service users.

Join River Exe Healthcare

As a Team Leader, you'll have the opportunity to make a difference in two important ways: helping people receive quality care in their own homes and supporting the care professionals who deliver it.

If you're ready to take on a role where you can use your care experience, support others and play an active part in delivering a high-quality service, we'd love to hear from you.
