About the role

Senior Care Assistant

Chichester & Bognor Regis

£15.15–£16.10 per hour | 30 guaranteed hours per week | Earn Up to £31,500 per year

Right at Home Chichester & Bognor Regis is an award-winning homecare provider. We help older people and vulnerable adults live safely and happily in their own homes. We are a WorkBuzz 5-Star Employer and are rated 9.9/10 on homecare.co.uk.

Because we are growing, we are looking for an additional Senior Care Assistant to work alongside our existing Senior. You might already be a Senior, or you might be a Care Assistant with three or more years’ experience who is ready to step up. Either way, now is a great time to join us. We will support you with full training and help you gain further qualifications.

What you’ll receive

  • 30 guaranteed hours per week (20 senior hours and 10 care hours), with up to 40 hours available

  • £15.15 per hour on weekdays and £16.10 per hour at weekends

  • Mileage paid at £0.35 per mile

  • On-call payment

  • Award-winning training, ongoing support and regular appraisals

  • Career progression and funded qualifications in Health and Social Care

Working pattern

You’ll work five days a week, with alternate weekends off. Typical yearly earnings are:

  • 30 hours per week: about £24,000

  • 35 hours per week: about £27,800

  • 40 hours per week: about £31,500

What you’ll be doing

  • Delivering hands-on care to our clients and leading by example

  • Mentoring and supporting our Care Assistants day to day

  • Shadowing new Care Assistants and supporting them through onboarding

  • Helping to onboard new clients and making sure all compliance is complete

  • Carrying out client introductions in line with our “no stranger” policy, so clients always meet their carer before the first visit

  • Doing quality checks on care delivery, conduct and paperwork

  • Keeping clear records and escalating concerns to the Registered Manager

  • Sharing senior duties with our existing Senior Care Assistant

  • Taking part in the paid on-call rota

What we’re looking for

  • At least three years’ continuous experience in care

  • Level 2 Diploma in Health and Social Care, or an equivalent such as NVQ Level 2

  • A full driving licence, your own car, and business car insurance (Class 1), which covers driving between clients

  • The right to work in the UK (we can’t offer visa sponsorship)

  • Good organisational and leadership skills

  • A warm, positive attitude and a real passion for great care

Have you worked as a Senior Support Worker or Care Team Leader, or are you a former Nurse? We’d love to hear from you.

Right at Home is an equal opportunities employer. We are committed to making sure that no applicant is treated less favourably because of personal or protected characteristics.
