Evening Home Care Assistant

Evening shifts starting between 16:00 and 18:00 and finishing at 22:00. Weekend availability is required for either one day every weekend or both days every other weekend proportionate to your weekday availability.

We are looking for kind, reliable and motivated people to join our team as Care Assistants. Previous care experience is not required: if you have the right values, we will give you the training and ongoing support you need to feel confident in the role.

You will support adults in Bournemouth or Poole to live safely, independently and comfortably in their own homes. This is a varied and rewarding role in which you can make a genuine difference every day.

Evening hours and weekend commitment

• Shifts start between 16:00 and 18:00 and finish at 22:00.

• You must be available to work either one day every weekend (Saturday or Sunday) or both Saturday and Sunday every other weekend, as part of your evening rota.

What you will do

Depending on each client’s individual needs, you may:

• Provide companionship and reassurance during the evening

• Prepare evening meals and drinks

• Support clients with washing, changing and other personal care

• Assist with medication in line with your training and care plans

• Help with light housekeeping

• Support bedtime routines so clients feel comfortable and settled for the night

What we are looking for

You will need to:

• Be available for evening shifts starting between 16:00 and 18:00 and finishing at 22:00

• Be available for one day every weekend or both days every other weekend

• Hold a full driving licence that is valid in the UK

• Have access to a suitable vehicle with business-use insurance

• Be available for a full weeks induction training held during office hours

• Have a genuine desire to help others

• Be kind, patient, dependable and positive

• Work well both independently and as part of a team

Experience as a Care Assistant, Support Worker, Carer or Healthcare Assistant is welcome, but it is not essential. People from customer service, retail, hospitality, childcare, education, beauty, catering, cleaning and many other sectors often bring valuable transferable skills to care.
