Job Overview

Are you a HGV Technician/Mechanic looking for a new exciting role in a growing and expanding business?
We are looking for a HGV Technician to join our team in Worksop. The successful candidate will be responsible for the maintenance and repair of Tractor units, Rigids, Vans and Trailers.

Salary: £39,520 – £19ph OTE: £48,000  (OTE based on total average earnings of Technicians in the garage over a 3 month period)

Overtime available – £28.50ph

Hours of work: Monday to Friday 6.00am-14.30pm and 10.00am-18.30pm alternating weeks

Responsibilities

• Service, inspection, maintenance and repair of Tractor units, Rigids, Vans and Trailers
• Electrical, electronic, mechanical and hydraulic fault diagnosis, repair and installation
• Overhaul electrical equipment and components
• Setting and operating of machine tools and equipment
• Welding and metal working
• Department of Transport (MOT) testing preparation
• Parts ordering and stores management
• Support team members including Apprentice Technicians as required
• Accurately record time and detail of completed jobs
• Carry out inspection and repair of workshop equipment as directed

Qualifications:

• Qualified to NVQ Level 3 in Heavy Goods Maintenance or equivalent or proven experience as an HGV Technician or similar role in vehicle maintenance.
• Diagnostics skills/qualifications – desirable
• A valid Class 1 licence – desirable
• Proficient in using hand tools, power tools.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.
