Are you interested in the world of IT, computer networks or optical technologies? Do you have a technical mindset, can you communicate in English, and are you looking for a job where you can continue to develop your professional skills?

We are looking for a new colleague to join OPTOKON’s technical department, who will help us with day-to-day technical operations, communication with customers and partners, and the preparation of the necessary documentation.

You don’t need to be a fully-fledged specialist in optical networks. What matters to us is a technical background, an interest in the field and a willingness to learn new things.

What you can expect

• Supporting the day-to-day operations of the technical department
• Collaborating on the fulfilment of production, service and project plans
• Receiving, processing and responding to technical enquiries
• Communicating with colleagues, customers and international partners
• Researching technical information and proposing next steps
• Preparing, compiling and managing technical and accompanying documentation
• Working with product data sheets, manuals, specifications and other technical documents
• Collaborating with production, the sales department, the service department and other specialist teams
• Gradually familiarising yourself with products in the fields of data networks, fibre optics and telecommunications technologies

Who we’re looking for

• You have a secondary school or university qualification, ideally in a technical field
• You have a technical mindset and are able to identify connections
• You are familiar with the basic principles of IT and computer networks
• You are interested in networking, telecommunications or optical technologies
• You can communicate in English both verbally and in writing
• You are not afraid to make phone calls, attend face-to-face meetings or reply to emails in English
• You are proficient in using standard office software and electronic documentation
• You can organise your work, keep track of deadlines and see tasks through to completion
• You are meticulous, independent and, at the same time, able to work well as part of a team

An advantage will be

• Education or work experience in the field of IT, electrical engineering, telecommunications or optoelectronics
• A basic understanding of the principles of LANs, WANs, TCP/IP, active network components or optical networks
• Experience with technical support, customer enquiries or the preparation of documentation
• The ability to interpret technical drawings, diagrams and product specifications
• Knowledge of a second foreign language

The experience listed is an advantage, not a requirement. If you have a good technical foundation and a desire to break into the industry, we will help you acquire the necessary knowledge.
