About the Offer

We are currently looking for a Python/Scala Developer for Transaction Monitoring to join the team of our client from the banking sector. For this role, Optiveum is the recruitment and contracting party, which means you will sign the cooperation agreement directly with us.

You will build data pipelines and detection logic for capital-markets anti-money laundering (AML) scenarios, contributing to a greenfield architecture with real ownership over what you deliver.

Key Details:
  • Rate: up to 190 PLN/h net + VAT

  • Work Model: B2B contract, full-time (40 h/week), hybrid – 3 days per week in the office

  • Location: Gdańsk, Gdynia, Warsaw or Łódź

  • Languages: Fluent Polish and English

Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement and optimise data pipelines supporting end-to-end capital-markets AML detection scenarios

  • Implement detection logic, rule frameworks and scoring components for financial-crime use cases

  • Ensure high-quality engineering across code, data pipelines and operational processes

  • Contribute to a greenfield architecture with a strong sense of ownership, innovation and delivery excellence

Requirements:

  • Strong programming skills in Python and Scala or Java

  • Advanced experience with Apache Spark (PySpark) and SQL for large-scale distributed data processing

  • Hands-on experience with distributed compute platforms and on-premise cluster environments

  • Proficiency with CI/CD tools such as Bamboo or Jenkins, and Bitbucket

  • Experience working in Agile teams, with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced, evolving environment

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Fluent Polish and English

Nice to have:

  • Experience with Quantexa or transaction monitoring platforms

  • Understanding of capital markets products such as FX, equities, derivatives and bonds

  • Previous experience in financial crime, AML or surveillance use cases

  • Experience implementing rule-based detection systems, scorecards or alerting frameworks

  • Experience delivering against non-functional requirements such as performance, scalability, observability, data quality, resiliency and security

  • Experience with automation, including automated pipeline deployment, data validation, testing frameworks and workflow orchestration

  • Experience integrating solutions with third-party systems, such as case management systems

  • A strong can-do attitude and the ability to collaborate in a cross-functional team
