Field Application Engineer

ONiO builds microcontrollers that run without batteries — but that’s not the point. Our chips harvest ambient energy — light, heat, RF — and just work. No wires. No recharging rituals. No maintenance loops. We don’t believe batteries are evil. We just don’t assume they’ll always be there. Our first chip, ONiO.zero, is a wireless microcontroller built from scratch to run on harvested energy. It cold-starts from under a microwatt. It runs BLE and other radios.

We’re looking for a Field Application Engineer to help customers bring batteryless products to life. You’ll be the bridge between ONiO and the real world, supporting integration of our platform across diverse applications.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support during evaluation, development, and integration
  • Act as the main technical interface between customers and internal teams
  • Deliver product presentations, demos, and hands-on support
  • Assist with schematics, PCB reviews, debugging, performance optimization, firmware
  • Collaborate with sales and product teams to understand needs and propose solutions
  • Gather customer feedback to shape product roadmap and improvements
  • Support design-in activities from concept to production
  • Develop application notes, quick-start guides, and technical collateral
  • Attend events, customer meetings, and workshops to showcase our tech
  • Train distributors, OEMs, and internal teams on new products and tools

Requirements

  • Background in embedded systems, electronics, or semiconductor tech
  • Hands-on experience with MCUs, sensors, PMICs, or SoCs
  • Familiar with hardware debugging tools (oscilloscopes, analyzers, protocol decoders)
  • Embedded software and scripting (C, Python, shell)
  • Strong communicator, able to explain technical concepts clearly
  • Customer-focused with a problem-solving mindset
  • Degree in Electrical, Computer Engineering, or related field
  • Willingness to travel to customer sites

Bonus

  • Knowledge of RTOS, BLE, Wi-Fi, or analog/mixed-signal design
  • Prior experience in customer-facing technical roles

Benefits

  • Competitive salary and insurance, health & pension benefits
  • Stock options — skin in the game
  • The chance to shape real, cutting-edge products
  • Fast-paced, diverse, design-forward environment
  • Work-life balance, family-friendly policies

We know talent doesn’t come in neatly shaped lists. If you don’t tick every box but this sounds like your kind of challenge — apply anyway. We care about capability, curiosity, and attitude over perfection.
