About the role

Skills Bootcamps Trainer - Construction

Ready to inspire the next generation of construction professionals?

An exciting opportunity has arisen at Oaklands College for a passionate and industry-experienced Skills Bootcamps Trainer - Construction. This role sits at the heart of our growing Professional Training provision, supporting adult learners to gain the skills, knowledge, and qualifications needed to progress into employment or further career opportunities within the construction sector.

As part of Oaklands' expanding professional training and development offer, you will deliver high-quality training, coaching, and assessment to learners across a range of construction programmes. You will play a vital role in helping learners achieve accredited qualifications while developing the practical skills and confidence required by today's employers.

Your Day-to-Day Impact

As a Skills Bootcamps Trainer - Construction, you will take ownership of the learner journey from enrolment through to achievement, ensuring learners receive an engaging, supportive, and high-quality learning experience throughout their programme.

You will deliver construction-focused training using a blend of classroom-based, online, and employer-based learning methods. Through innovative teaching approaches and practical activities, you will inspire learners and help them develop both their technical knowledge and workplace skills.

A key responsibility of the role will be monitoring learner progress through regular reviews, setting meaningful targets, and working collaboratively with colleagues to ensure learners remain on track to successfully complete their qualifications within agreed timescales. You will use learners' individual starting points to plan tailored learning programmes that support achievement and progression.

You will assess learner work against awarding body requirements, providing clear, constructive feedback and creating action plans that support continuous improvement. Maintaining accurate assessment records and documentation within the college's e-portfolio systems will be essential to ensuring quality and compliance standards are met.

Supporting learners both academically and pastorally will form an important part of the role. You will identify and address barriers to learning, develop individual learning plans, and provide information, advice, and guidance to help learners achieve their personal and professional goals.

Working within the college's quality assurance framework, you will ensure programmes meet internal standards as well as external requirements set by awarding organisations, Ofsted, and funding bodies. You will contribute to audits, inspections, and continuous improvement activities that maintain the high standards expected at Oaklands College.

As a subject specialist, you will continually develop your own professional expertise through CPD, keeping your industry knowledge current and relevant. You will also support the promotion and development of Oaklands Training & Development provision.
