Microlise is entering an exciting phase of growth, and we’re looking for an experienced Bid and Proposal Manager to turn complex requirements into compelling, value-led proposals.

Bring your commercial insight and bid expertise to shape how we win strategic business, strengthen public sector opportunities, and build a faster, more consistent proposal process.

Why this role matters

You’ll put customer outcomes, commercial value, and credible evidence at the heart of every tender and proposal, helping Microlise win the right business at the right margin.

Reporting to the Director of Value Creation & Enablement, you’ll own strategic bids as a senior individual contributor, bringing together Sales, Pre-Sales, Product, Marketing, Legal, Finance, and partners.

From complex enterprise tenders to public sector and partner-led opportunities, you’ll help teams qualify deals, demonstrate measurable impact, and take our bid capability to the next level.

What you’ll be doing

  •        Leading strategic tenders, requests for proposals and information, and partner-led bids from kick-off to submission and review
  •        Challenging qualification with Sales, shaping win themes, and guiding bid, no-bid, and re-bid decisions
  •        Turning customer requirements and buying criteria into response strategies, value propositions, and evidence-led proposals
  •        Setting bid plans, timelines, contributor responsibilities, and review stages to meet deadlines
  •        Writing, editing, and quality assuring accurate, compliant, customer-specific responses
  •        Coordinating subject matter experts across Sales, Pre-Sales, Product, Marketing, Legal, Finance, and Customer Success
  •        Working with Value Consulting and Pre-Sales to demonstrate return on investment, customer outcomes, and the cost of inaction
  •        Creating differentiated messaging for executive summaries, presentations, clarifications, and negotiations
  •        Aligning scope, pricing, risk, and delivery commitments to customer value while protecting margin
  •        Strengthening public sector readiness across frameworks, procurement, compliance, evidence, and social value
  •        Developing materials for partners, resellers, system integrators, and priority sectors
  •        Building reusable templates, case studies, proof points, and content libraries, and coaching contributors
  •        Using bid outcomes, win-loss insight, and lessons learned to improve quality, collaboration, and pace

You’ll thrive in this role if you have:

  •        At least three years’ experience managing B2B bids, complex tenders, or strategic proposals
  •        Public sector or government procurement experience and an understanding of successful tender responses
  •        Excellent proposal writing, editing, storyboarding, and quality assurance skills
  •        Commercial judgement connecting customer outcomes, competitive positioning, scope, risk, and margin
  •        Understanding of value-based selling and sales qualification; MEDDPICC familiarity is an advantage
  •        Confidence coordinating senior stakeholders, balancing priorities, and meeting tight deadlines
  •        Knowledge of procurement, tender compliance, bid governance, and commercial risk
  •        A collaborative approach, attention to detail, and ownership that creates clarity and momentum
  •        A continuous improvement mindset, turning feedback and lessons learned into stronger proposals

Technology or software experience, frameworks, partner-led bids, and channel propositions are advantages. Transport industry experience isn’t essential, your ability to build compelling bids matters most.
