We are looking for a dedicated Trainee Service Technician to join us and work in our dedicated hospital accounts in Leicester.

Your Role:

As a Trainee Service Technician, you will ensure an effective and timely product delivery and maintenance service to customers within the dedicated hospital. After training, this will include setting up products for patients within agreed delivery times, repair and proactive maintenance of products, and provision of support to customers in various clinical environments in regard to the product. This role follows our Career Pathway, with clearly defined training, skills, and knowledge to enable you to progress your career with Medstrom.

Main responsibilities of the role:

– Repair and maintenance of products in a hospital environment (on wards and in on-site bed stores)
– Carry out Planned Preventative Maintenance on all products
– Ensure clean, ready-to-use products are taken to the correct hospital locations
– Collect products after use and return to the agreed collection areas
– Complete job records on a handheld PDA device
– Install products into designated locations
– Provide product demonstrations and basic user training to hospital staff
– Maintain a clean and tidy work environment

Hours: 37.5 hours per week, working Monday to Friday, 8.30am – 5.00pm (some flexibility may be required with start and finish times).

Experience Required:

To join us as a Trainee Service Technician, ideally, you will need to have or be willing to develop the following:

Qualifications and experience requirements:

– Mechanical or electrical background desirable, but not essential as full training will be provided
– Experience of delivery driving and planning routes would be desirable
– Full UK Driving licence required (we use long wheelbase vans, but training and support to build confidence in manoeuvring these vehicles will be provided where required)v

Personal Requirements:

– A proactive, ‘can-do’ attitude
– Excellent customer service skills
– Able to communicate effectively
– Ability to work under own initiative, and follow procedures laid out by the business to achieve deadlines
– Basic PC skills to include email and MS Office
– The willingness to be DBS checked

Please note, this role will involve manual handling – lifting, carrying and loading Medstrom products into the van.
