Are you looking to join a growing, values-led organisation with a clear social purpose?

At Lifestone Homes, we’re proud to be the largest housing group in the region, managing over 30,000 homes across Buckinghamshire, Bedfordshire, and Hertfordshire.

Everything we do is about delivering excellent services, high quality homes, neighbourhoods we can be proud of and maximising number of new affordable homes we build. Through our merger we’ve brought together shared values, skills and ambition, so we can build more affordable homes and make an even bigger difference in the communities we serve

If you're ready to grow your career in a supportive, inclusive environment while helping to shape stronger communities, we’d love to welcome you on our journey. Together, we’re building a better future.

About the role

We are looking for an Estates Cleaner to join our Estates Services team and help keep our communities clean, safe and welcoming for residents.

This is a practical, hands‑on role where you will work across our estates carrying out cleaning duties, maintaining communal areas and supporting the wider Estates team. You'll often work independently, using your initiative to ensure our neighbourhoods are presented to a high standard, while also building positive relationships with residents.

If you take pride in your work, enjoy being out and about rather than behind a desk, and want to make a visible difference every day, we'd love to hear from you.

Key responsibilities

  • Carry out general cleaning duties including vacuuming, wiping surfaces, cleaning toilets and restocking supplies

  • Maintain communal bin stores and refuse areas to a high standard

  • Remove litter, leaves, dog fouling and other waste from estates and communal areas

  • Sweep hard surfaces and keep pathways clear and presentable

  • Assist with snow clearance and gritting during adverse weather conditions

  • Clean and maintain lift interiors and communal fixtures

  • Report repairs, hazards or estate issues to the relevant teams

  • Keep accurate records of work completed using company systems and devices

  • Order and safely store cleaning materials and equipment

  • Work safely and in line with health and safety requirements at all times

  • Drive company vehicles safely and maintain them in a clean condition

  • Provide basic advice and assistance to residents when required

  • Respond to emergencies and urgent estate issues when needed

Our expectations

  • Communal areas consistently maintained to a high cleaning standard

  • Positive relationships with residents and colleagues

  • Prompt reporting of repairs, hazards and estate issues

  • Accurate record keeping and completion of assigned work

  • Safe working practices followed at all times

  • Effective team working and support across the Estates Service

  • Visible presence across estates, helping create clean and welcoming neighbourhoods

About you

  • Good understanding of cleaning techniques and best practice

  • Knowledge of health and safety requirements relating to cleaning products and equipment

  • Willingness to work flexibly and provide cover at different locations when required

  • Ability to report repairs and estate issues appropriately

  • Good organisational skills and attention to detail

  • Full UK driving licence

  • DBS check (where required)

Desired

  • Experience working within cleaning, estates or facilities services

  • Experience working within housing or residential environments

  • Pride in delivering high standards of work

  • Strong customer service skills and a positive attitude

  • Experience using handheld devices or mobile working technology for recording work activities
