About the Role

Responsibilities

We're looking for a mid-level Backend Data/Software Engineer to join our engineering team and support cross-team operations. You'll work across teams to improve the speed and reliability of our production models, and build out the infrastructure and tooling our internal teams rely on day to day.
This role suits an ambitious engineer who wants more autonomy than a typical mid-level position offers. You'll be working close to the core of how the business runs, with a clear path toward greater ownership, including the chance to help design and build new products for clients as you develop.
What You'll Do

Requirements

Must-have

• 2+ years of professional software development experience
• Solid professional Python experience
• Comfortable working with microservice architectures
• Experience building and consuming REST APIs
• Experience working with databases (SQL and/or other data stores)

Nice-to-have

• Computer Science degree (maths or other science degrees also considered favourably)
• Experience with Rust
• Cloud experience, especially AWS
• Front-end skills (not required, but a bonus)
