About the role

## Overview of the position

We are looking for an experienced Design Engineer to join us.

You would be working with our team of engineers and designers on agentic experiences: products, technologies and client projects where AI does real work alongside the people using it.

If you're a design oriented tinkerer, either a designer with development skills or a developer with a strong knack for design, you'll probably find interesting things to build with us.

Most of our client work happens directly in the client's codebase, not in design files handed over to developers. You'd design the interface and ship it yourself, working alongside our engineers.

The position is remote-first within Europe. You need to live in the EU/EEA, UK or Switzerland, somewhere between UK and Finnish time, and be authorised to work there. We don't sponsor visas or relocation. We hope to get some face time at company retreats, and you're welcome to join our office in Turku.

## Key Responsibilities

- Design and build interfaces for agentic products, from concept to production.
- Work directly in client codebases alongside our engineers.
- Prototype and test ideas with clients and users.
- Use agentic coding tools such as Claude Code and Codex every day, and keep looking for better ways to work with emerging tooling.

## Must-have Skills and Qualifications

- At least five years of professional experience in front-end development or design engineering.
- Good eye for high class UX & UI.
- Conceptual thinking and, above all, a passion for problem solving.
- Front-end technologies: React, TypeScript.
- At home in a real codebase: you can find your way around an unfamiliar repo, work with Git and pull requests, and connect a UI to an API.
- A portfolio or other showcase of UI work you've designed and built.
- Excited about pushing the limits of agentic experiences and finding the interaction patterns that don't exist yet.
- Professional working proficiency in English and clear communication, in writing and with clients.
- Experience with generative AI and with Figma or similar design tools.
- Back-end or full-stack knowledge is not mandatory, but a plus.
- Finnish language skills are not mandatory, but a plus.

## What We Offer

- A stimulating environment where you can build state-of-the-art agentic experiences.
- Competitive salary with final compensation negotiated based on skills and experience.
- Work-life balance with the option to work remotely or from our office in Turku.
- Regular team events, off-sites, and the national holidays of your country of residence.
- Five weeks of paid vacation per year.
- Salary range: ~ 5,500–6,500 € per month.

## How to apply

[Apply now](https://airtable.com/app1IdYEA8icQy9UG/pagW3lN9yNnILKhYv/form?prefill_fld1XkXus2hnXAePH=recCceE34kqfUovFS) and include in your application:

- Detailed answers to all open questions listed in the form.
- A portfolio or showcase of your UI work.
- Links to relevant projects or content in GitHub, X, LinkedIn, etc.
- Your salary expectations and potential starting date.

Applications without an attached or linked design portfolio won't be reviewed. A lot of our work is user interface design, so lead with your best UX and UI work. A few well-chosen projects show taste better than a long list.
